Kati is an experienced intellectual property law practitioner adeptly navigating a spectrum of IP-related matters and dispute resolution. She has 15 years of experience across the IP world especially in trademarks, but also in copyrights, designs, patents, utility models, company names, domain names, slavish imitation and unfair competition matters. Kati is in her element when she is dealing with demanding legal proceedings concerning all industrial rights and copyrights.

In addition to being an attorney-at-law, Kati is also European Trade Mark and Design Attorney focusing on issues related to intellectual property rights with a primary focus on IP litigation and prosecution. She has extensive experience representing clients in different courts and trademark offices, especially before the Finnish Market Court, Supreme Court and Supreme Administrative Court, the EUIPO and the Finnish Patent and Registration Office. Negotiations as well as co-existence and settlement agreements are also part or her expertise.

Kati is an expert in IP litigation and other contentious matters and judicial proceedings. Her dispute resolution practice covers a wide variety of IP-related disputes from dispute avoidance and conflict management to litigation and arbitration. Kati handles both civil and administrative proceedings, such as infringement, cancellation, revocation, invalidity and UDRP proceedings as well as oppositions. She also specializes in responses to office actions and refusals as well as other cases related to the protection of intellectual property rights. Moreover, Kati is experienced in facilitating scam website takedowns and domain name sales proceedings.

Further, she has strong experience in complex, demanding IP matters with cross-border aspects in cooperation with international colleagues. Kati is well-connected globally to other IP experts, and together with them she can provide support in different countries across the world.

Additionally, she has wide experience with providing strategic advisory to companies and rightsholders on a wide variety of IP-related matters such as developing IP policies for clients as well as protection, filing and registration strategies. Furthermore, Kati supports clients in IP due diligence in M&A as well as IP-related agreements such as license agreements. She is also frequently lecturing on diverse facets of intellectual property rights.

Kati is an experienced litigator, who has successfully represented clients in high stakes IP disputes, which have become landmark cases and shaped Finnish legal doctrine for years to come. She is a recognized expert in her field being widely recognized as one of the leading practitioners in the field of IP law in Finland.

Kati is also acting as a board member of The Finnish Association for Industrial Property Rights and of the Finnish AIPPI Group.
