A report on increasing the life science sector’s competitiveness in the Metropolitan area (the so-called Health Capital initiative) was published on 2 February 2015. Avance partner Mikko Alkio, in cooperation with key stakeholders, prepared the report for the City of Helsinki and the University of Helsinki. As the life science industry is globally undergoing major transitions, the new initiative aims to improve the competitiveness of the life science sector in the Helsinki Metropolitan area by developing closer collaboration between universities, research institutes and the business sector. The report contains a forward-looking overview on the subject matter and 20 practical recommended actions, including i.a. the further strengthening of the technology transfer activities. The report has already been highly welcomed among stakeholders in the life science sector. Please find the report in Finnish here.
